A great choice

We booked Purlins for a family visit to Salisbury and it was a great choice. The location is perfect, just outside the cathedral with bay window views all along the High Street, where there was lots going on in the day but quiet at night. The accommodation itself is excellent. A beautiful old building but all the furniture and fittings are new and high quality. It's very well equipped with everything you can think of. Last but not least, the host, Nicola was fabulous - easy to contact if we needed her and very helpful. We would not hesitate to stay again.

The central location of Hideaway means it is just steps away from the restaurants, shops and sites of this lovely city, yet it is so quiet and has the added bonus of a parking place.
Housed within an old building the historic charm is retained while incorporating every modern convenience and comfort to an exceptionally high standard.
Nicola is a perfect host, always helpful and available and we have never stayed anywhere and been so spoilt with thoughtful extras and treats.
I have no hesitation in recommending Hideaway and it would definitely be our first choice again.

Our stay was beyond words, but I'll try! We booked both Purlins and Hideaway to accommodate our family group of six. Accommodations were stunning ... comfortable, perfectly clean, well appointed. The chilled beverages upon arrival were a delight, and the sweets and breakfast goods were greatly appreciated. The location cannot be better for exploring Salisbury and surrounds, and access in and out is a breeze. Nicola was delightful and very responsive ... a fantastic host, who really cares about providing outstanding service and a memorable experience. This was our first time traveling internationally with two younger children (6 & 8), and Purlins instantly made them feel comfortable and at home ... in fact, they've told everyone who will listen how much they loved staying there! Grandparents enjoyed the stay as well, so everyone was happy. Only problem is Purlins may have spoiled future trips, as I can't imagine our next travel lodging meeting this high standard!

Faultless! We stayed as a family of four and it was perfect in every way. The attention to detail was beyond even what we've experienced at 5 star hotels. The location is very central with easy access to shops and restaurants. Nicola, our host, was super responsive and very friendly. We can't recommend Purlins highly enough - simply the best stay Salisbury has to offer!

Purlins is truly one of the best self catering places I've ever had the privilege of visiting. I booked this for family and friends and it was a complete triumph. The accommodation is utterly fantastic; a historic building with ancient fabric that has a completely modern and comfortable fit out in an exceptional location right at the centre of the city with its own parking space and outside sun trap terrace. And as if that wasn't enough, it has superbly comfortable beds, beautiful hot water, a wonderful kitchen (that would put my own to shame!) and sitting room, all of which the owner had filled with endless thoughtful touches and provisions. I can't come up with sufficient superlatives to describe it, or the helpful, thoughtful and proactive communication from Nicola in both booking and the welcome she gave. It's truly exceptional. If you're looking for somewhere to stay in Salisbury then I cannot honestly say that there is anywhere better and having lived in Salisbury for many years, I'd say I've looked at a fair few! Book it. You won't regret it. I will definitely be looking to use it again when the next need arises.
A Fabulous Apartment

What a fabulous apartment, a real gem, located right in the heart of Salisbury. Private entrance door off the High Street, lovely little secluded patio, (with heater if required), with tomatoes and herbs growing when we were there, and fantastic views from the bay window overlooking the High Street at the front if you like to sit and watch the world go by, which we did quite a lot. Also your own private parking space, essential in the city centre.
The whole apartment has been sensitively and beautifully renovated and decorated all to a very high standard, with lots of personal touches making it feel like a home from home. Plenty of room for the four of us and free wifi. The kitchen is very well equipped which was good as we like to eat in some evenings.
Great location right in the centre of Salisbury, convenient for all the attractions like the cathedral and Arundells, as well as shopping and eating out. Also it's not too far to the New Forest and the fabulous beaches at Bournemouth, which we did one beautiful sunny day.
Nicola is a charming and delightful host for whom nothing seems to be too much trouble to make sure you have a wonderful stay. This really is as good as it gets and I would happily recommend Purlins to anyone wanting to visit this part of the world

This property is simply superb. Amazingly well equipped, beautifully furnished and decorated. In the heart of lovely, lively Salisbury, two minutes from shops, restaurants and the Cathedral with its beautiful surroundings and walks. OK you are not five miles up a country lane so there is a modest amount of traffic noise, but this was not an issue for us. We cannot wait to go again!

Purlins is an absolutely wonderful place, in the heart of enchanting Sailsbury. My sisters and I had a well needed, restful break, the owners thought of every detail to make our stay truly special. The apartment is charming with lots of history but newly refurbished to make it feel like you are staying in the most luxurious penthouse suite in a 5 star hotel. We will definitely be back to the Purlins again soon.

We absolutely loved staying at Purlins...The accommodation is brilliant with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and instantly enjoyable. The quality and attention to detail of every aspect, from bed linen to shower to kitchen appliances, is outstanding. We also loved the private rooftop terrace - a real surprise and perfect for a quiet pre-dinner drink. In addition to this, the town centre location provides easy access to cafes, shops, restaurants and the beautiful Cathedral. A unique experience.

Situated within a stone’s throw of the Cathedral, Purlins is a beautifully renovated 2-bedroom apartment in the most perfect, central location for experiencing Salisbury.
Split across 2 floors, downstairs there’s a well-equipped kitchen with all the appliances you need to make yourself at home. The sitting and dining room is a bright and comfortable room where you can relax and put your feet up after a busy day exploring the city.
The bay window in the sitting room is a particularly special feature. You can sit back in the comfy chairs for hours, whilst watching down on Salisbury’s bustling high street and admiring the magnificent Cathedral spire.
Outside there’s a private patio area with a dining table, heater and umbrella. The patio also has fairy lights which creates a cozy and relaxed ambience.
Upstairs there is a twin bedroom, master bedroom and shower room; all of which are beautifully decorated. The classic king-size bed is so comfy you won’t want to get out of it!
The entire apartment has been decorated to a high standard and is comprehensively equipped throughout, making the stay feel luxurious and delightful.
With contemporary décor and historic features, Purlins is full of character and charm.
Nicola went above and beyond our expectations for our stay at Purlins. Communications prior to check-in was clear and prompt. Everything you could possibly think of had been catered for, from toiletries and robes to a mini bar and groceries. This thought, love and care made our stay truly special and stress-free.
This stunning apartment really is a true Salisbury treasure and anyone who is lucky enough to stay here just won’t want to leave!
Five Star Gem!

My wife and I stayed at the Purlins earlier this month and we strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a short break in this fabulous Cathedral City.
Behind its Georgian façade lies a most attractive medieval property with oak beams throughout. The spacious accommodation has been furnished to a very high standard. There are thoughtful customer orientated touches everywhere. The overriding feeling is of an owner who wants her customers to feel at home and to enjoy every aspect of their stay. Purlins is situated in the attractive part of High Street right by the Cathedral Gate. You cannot be better located to visit the City centre shops, restaurants and bars, never mind being a stone’s throw from the iconic Salisbury Cathedral and its fabulous Close which we enjoyed wandering around on a lovely summer’s evening. We even had a car space which belongs to the property!
This is a five star gem of a place to stay. Don’t miss it!
